NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio
Assault, Royalton Road: On Sept. 20, a woman called police about her daughter being assaulted.
The mother and girl, 9, later came to the police station to discuss the incident.
The woman said her daughter and daughter’s friend were being bullied by mean girls at schools.
The mother said a teacher was alerted about the incident and scheduled a meeting that never took place.
The school resource officer is investigating the incidents.
Drunken driving, Royalton Road: On Sept. 17, police observed a speeding and weaving gray Ford Escape — which was slowing down followed by speeding up — traveling westbound on Royalton Road.
The officer discovered the Ford owner had a suspended license with driving privileges.
The Escape was pulled over on Spruce Run Drive. While talking to the woman, who immediately said, “Hola,” the officer smelled booze and observed her holding a bag of marijuana gummies.
Asked about the baggie, she said was trash. Further asked if it contained gummies, the woman admitted they were “from earlier” when she had been at the casino visiting her son.
Regarding the odor, the driver said she had one drink. When told about having a suspended license, the woman remained silent and shook her head from side to side.
The offer noted the woman’s driving privileges didn’t include driving to and from children’s activities.
The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license. During a search of the Ford, police found a joint, THC vape cartridge, rolling papers and grape gummies.
After refusing a field sobriety test, the woman was charged with drunken driving and weaving.
