Mercedes collides with patrol car in Berlin – headbutt against officer

A wild escape from the Berlin police early Saturday morning led to Arrest of three menThe starting point was a collision with a patrol car at an intersection.

As the police reported, around 3.20 am an emergency vehicle was travelling on Sredzkistrasse in Prenzlauer Berg in the direction of Schönhauser Allee. At the intersection with Husemannstrasse, a Mercedes took the right of way from the police car and thereby Front striped.

Although the crew sustained injuries, they were able to pursue the Mercedes with their blue lights on. Instead of stopping, the Mercedes accelerated and raced off towards Danziger StraßeAs he attempted to turn right, the driver lost control of the car and was carried out of the curve to the left.

Hedge and fence broken while speeding

First he drove over the curb, then the car crashed through a hedge and a fence and finally ended up on the tram tracks. Three men then got out of the car and fled in different directions.

Immediately after the crash, however, the police were able to catch and arrest two of them, aged 20 and 31. According to authorities, the 31-year-old resisted arrest and attacked an officer with a headbuttThe police therefore used physical force to bring the man under control.

He then complained of pain in his face and upper body, so rescue workers took him to a hospital for treatment. There, a blood sample was taken from him on the orders of the public prosecutor. The 31-year-old, in turn, filed a criminal complaint on suspicion of assault in office.

Additional officers took the 20-year-old into police custody so that a blood sample could be taken. Both suspects were released after the police measures had been completed.

During the measures at the scene of the accident, emergency services noticed a Man who repeatedly walked past the scene and matched the description of the third, still unknown occupant. The police spoke to him and searched him. They found a key to the Mercedes in his trouser pocket and confiscated it.

They arrested the 27-year-old as the suspected driver of the Mercedes. His blood was also taken in police custody and he was later released.

The Mercedes was recovered from the track bed and confiscated. The police are now investigating on suspicion of a traffic accident with minor injuries, hit and run, drunk driving, resistance against and attack on law enforcement officers and suspicion of assault in office.
