BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 6 – Kumpulan Meraih Barakah (KMB) held a Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony today in conjunction with the Birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th year.
The ceremony which took place at the Ash-Shaliheen Mosque was attended by more than 100 participants. Present as the guest of honor and then presenting certificates to the khatam participants at the ceremony was the wife of the Honorable Minister of Religious Affairs, Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Asbi.
At the ceremony, the khatam reading was led by Pengiran Hajah Halijah binti Pengiran Haji Damit, while the Sultan’s Birthday Prayer was read by Dayang Hartini binti Hashim.
Head of KMB, Hajah Florinda binti Haji Mejenis has presented a waqf in the form of two air conditioning units from KMB members to the head teacher of Sengkarai Tutong 1 Primary School, Hajah Suzanawati binti Haji Mat Kria.
The ceremony witnessed the presentation of infaq in the form of a package to perform Umrah to Dayang Maimunah binti Morsidi, one of the active members of KMB.
With an event like this, KMB will continue to carry out charitable works and enrich Brunei Darussalam with activities that are pleasing to God.
