More than 20 Sarawak products will be exhibited at MAHA

KUCHING, SEPT 5 – More than 20 types of Sarawak products will be brought and displayed at the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2024, at the Serdang Malaysia Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS) which will take place from 11 to 22 September.

Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development of Sarawak Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said this year, the state’s new product is the Sarawak Gold pineapple variety (SG1) which is known for its exceptional sweetness.

“The production of this SG1 pineapple variety is part of Sarawak’s ongoing efforts to improve its agricultural offering. In addition, the MD2 and N36 pineapple varieties will also be brought to MAHA 2024.

“Among others are Sarawak’s iconic products, Gula Apong, which is famous for its unique taste and quality, tilapia fish, and terubok fish, which are both famous for their quality and taste,” he said after conducting a working visit to the new building of the Sarawak State Farming Organization (PPNS). in Kota Samarahan, today.

Dr Rundi said visitors can also enjoy a variety of local dishes including glutinous rice, kolok mi and laksa, which are part of Sarawak’s culinary identity.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu reportedly said MAHA 2024, which is scheduled to take place at the Serdang Malaysia Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS), is targeting 150 companies from all over the world that offer various types of products and services. – Named
