More than 280 people lost their homes in the fire in Tongod

TONGOD, SEPT 16 – A total of 282 residents from 74 families lost their homes after 44 houses were destroyed in a fire in Kampung Penangah here last night.

The Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Center in the State of Sabah in a statement today informed that it received a call regarding the incident at 7:24 p.m.

A team of members with two machines was mobilized and arrived at the scene of the incident located in the interior at 11.30 pm.

“A total of 13 members consisting of nine members from the Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) and four from the Beluran BBP were mobilized to the scene of the incident. The house was 100 percent involved in the fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire using open water sources. No casualties were reported,” according to today’s statement.

According to the statement, the fire was successfully controlled at 2:30 am and the operation ended at 7:10 am this morning. – Named
