TEMBURONG, 10 Sept – More than 50 participants consisting of Senior Citizen Activity Center (PKWE), village heads and village consultation council (MPK) members attended the Community Outreach Session organized by Digital Brunei at the Multipurpose Hall, Bumiputera Main Complex, Bangar Town, Temburong District, today.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Temburong District Office and PKWE, aims to foster digital literacy among the elderly and increase awareness of online safety.
In the first briefing session, participants were exposed to current issues related to fake news and online fraud through a presentation by the Brunei Info-Communication Technology Industry Authority (AITI), followed by a presentation from the Royal Brunei Police Force (PPDB) on cyber crime statistics and case study in Brunei Darussalam.
Cyber Security Brunei (CSB) presented security measures to prevent the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, followed by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) which highlighted digital ethics and common online fraud.
The event was also graced with the exhibition of digital products including the Ding! digital wallet, which is a new feature on the Progresif CARE+ application by Progresif Sdn Bhd, and then the introduction of an innovative pharmaceutical delivery service by Go Rush.
The event is expected to empower the participants in facing the growing digital landscape.
Also present was the Member of the National Assembly, Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir.
