YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Within the framework of the session of the extraordinary executive committee of the Armenian National Olympic Committee, the medal winners of the Paris Olympic Games and their coaches were awarded.

“Armenpress”According to the report, the session of the NOAC Executive Committee was chaired by the President of the National Olympic Committee, Gagik Tsarukyan, who summarized the performances of the Armenian athletes in Paris-2024. “During the Olympic Games, all Armenians followed your speeches as one person and were united. You were able to give pride and victory to our community in these difficult days. Everyone knows that the Olympic Games are the result of 4 years of work. I am grateful that you gave our people moments of joy with your participation,” said Tsarukyan.

The latter emphasized that sports luck also plays an important role in sports. “Now looking at the future, we can say that we have a good team. All those sports, in which Armenia has always stood out, are at their peak, except for judo,” Tsarukyan emphasized.

Olympic Games silver medalists Artur Aleksanyan, Artur Davtyan and Varazdat Lalayan were awarded 20 million drams, Olympic bronze medalist Malkhas Amoyan – 15 million drams. The head coach of the Armenian Greco-Roman style wrestling team Armen Babalaryan, the head coach of the gymnastics team Hakob Serobyan, the head coach of the weightlifting team Pashik Alaverdyan, the coach of the Greco-Roman style wrestling team Gevorg Aleksanyan also received large monetary awards (10 million AMD).

The President of the Armenian Wrestling Federation, Robert Khachatryan, and the President of the Shooting Federation, Artur Hovhannisyan, were awarded with the gold medal of the Armenian Olympic Committee for their contributions to the development of physical culture and sports, and the spread of Olympic ideas.

At the 33rd Olympic Games held in Paris, the capital of France, Armenia represented 15 athletes and won 4 medals. Gymnast Artur Davtyan, wrestler Artur Aleksanyan, weightlifter Varazdat Lalayan became silver medal winners of the Summer Olympic Games. Wrestler Malkhas Amoyan won bronze.
