After his move to AC Florence, national soccer player Robin Gosens spoke clearly about his previous time at 1. The professional did not want to explain the detailed reasons for the transfer, but he recently wrote in a long post on Instagram: “I loved every second of tearing myself apart for this club.”
Before the season in Berlin, Gosens had played for several years in Italy, mainly for Atalanta Bergamo and Inter Milan. This was the best time of his career, he said, and thanked Fiorentina for the “opportunity to show myself here again”.
Gosens: Union year “individually” important
When asked about the interest of other Serie A clubs in the summer, the winger said: “People have been asking about me in Italy. That means that I have made a good impression in the past. And that last year was also an important season on an individual level, with seven goals and four assists.” As a club, Union was a huge disappointment: the Champions League starter was only able to secure their place in the Bundesliga on the last matchday.
Gosens made a perfect start in Florence at the beginning of September, just one day after his transfer, scoring the goal that made it 2-2 against Monza in injury time. He said he had seen “a lot of potential” in the first few days at the new club.
