Turbine Potsdam missed out on its first point in the women’s Bundesliga. On the second matchday, coach Marco Gebhardt’s team lost 0:2 (0:0) to Werder Bremen and is still waiting for a successful return to the game after the 0:2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the opening match. In front of a good 1,200 spectators, Michelle Ulbrich converted a penalty to take the lead in the 74th minute, and Larissa Mühlhaus made the decision in the 79th minute.

Turbine were missing a total of eight players, including captain Jennifer Cramer, goalkeeper Vanessa Fischer and midfielder Viktoria Schwalm, who Gebhardt described as “real cornerstones”. Turbine was therefore constantly under pressure from the favored Bremen team and could only rarely provide relief in the opposing half.

Potsdam defended bravely, and goalkeeper Lesley Lergenmüller was confident in her Bundesliga debut. However, the 19-year-old goalkeeper had no chance from the penalty, nor from the direct free kick five minutes later.
