Before their emotional return to Stuttgart, Borussia Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin will not hold any special talks with new signings Waldemar Anton and Serhou Guirassy. “The boys are old enough. They are not 18-year-old players in whom this might trigger something. Both know how to deal with it,” said Sahin about the two professionals who moved from VfB to BVB in the summer.
On Sunday (5.30 p.m./DAZN) they will play for the first time with their new club in their old hometown. Anton in particular could be booed by the VfB fans because of his move. “But I don’t have the feeling that an arm around the shoulder is needed,” said Sahin.
The BVB coach has great respect for the Swabians. “I really enjoyed watching Stuttgart last year too. They are a team with a very clear idea, a coaching team,” the 36-year-old praised his VfB colleague Sebastian Hoeneß. “You can see very clearly what Sebastian wants to do with this team.”
