Sport: The semi-finals are played in the best of three games, and the first team to win two games advances to the final. The Sun thus have a fantastic starting point before the return match at home next Wednesday.

– It was wildly impressive. They defended well. Today they held on all the way and stood the whole match, commented Gro Hammerseng-Edin on TV 2.

Sola got off to a fantastic start to the game when they went up 5-0 after just six minutes. Storhamar played more into the game later in the half, and at one point were only one goal behind, but had to go to the break at 13-16.

After the break, Storhamar continued to catch up and finally managed to equalize at 16-16. However, it was also the closest they came to victory. Sola never gave up and eventually won 27-25.

Sola’s Kristina Sirum Novak was the match’s top scorer with ten hits, while Tina Abdula, Mia Solberg Svele and Guro Nestaker scored four goals each for the hosts.

In the second semi-final, Vipers Kristiansand and Larvik meet. They play their first game on Wednesday.

Storhamar and Sola finished second and third respectively in the elite series this season. Vipers became league champions with victory in all matches. The two semi-finalists progressed from the quarter-finals when they knocked out Oppsal and Fredrikstad respectively.

The Vipers are the reigning playoff champions.
