Ops Kabat detained 11 foreigners

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 16 – A total of 11 foreign nationals were arrested in two separate operations carried out by the Law Enforcement Division (BPU), National Immigration and Registration Department (JIPK), recently.

Operation Kabat 98/2024 which was carried out at the construction site of Mukim Liang, saw an inspection carried out on 13 individuals, where nine of them were arrested for failing to present valid identification documents, in violation of Chapter 55(4)(a)(b)( c) Immigration Act, Term 17.

Meanwhile, Operation Kabat 100/2024 which was carried out at the Mukim Gadong B industrial site led to the arrest of two foreign nationals for the same offence. The two individuals are also suspected of violating Chapter 15(1) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 17 for overstaying after their immigration passes expire, as well as violating Regulation 15(2) of the Immigration Regulation, Chapter 17 for working with an illegal employer.
