BELAIT, 22 OCT – Three foreigners were arrested and taken to the Law Enforcement Division, for further investigation during Operation Kabat 116/2024 which targeted the houses of foreign workers in Mukim Liang, recently.
According to a statement from the National Immigration and Registration Department (JIPK), two foreigners are believed to have committed the offense of overstaying in the country after their immigration passes were revoked.
Meanwhile, another person is believed to be responsible for providing protection to immigration offenders.
Meanwhile, the JIPK also shared a prosecution case against a Bangladeshi man, Nasim Uddin, aged 30, who was sentenced to five months in prison starting from the first day the individual was remanded, which was on October 3, along with three lashes for the offense of overstaying.
The prosecution was made before Magistrate Syaffina binti Shahif and conducted by JIPK prosecuting officer, Adi Yusra bin Haji Adanan.
