Now the former head gardener of the Friendship Island, Jörg Näthe, is receiving the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. This was announced by a spokesman for the Brandenburg Ministry of Culture.
Näthe is to be honored on Monday on Friendship Island. He was the head gardener of Friendship Island from 1981 to 2013. “The fact that it enjoys an international reputation as an important garden monument and has become an important cultural site in Potsdam is largely thanks to him,” the spokesman explained.
