Now that voting is underway in Ohio, every voter needs to understand what is at stake in this election. The policies some MAGA Republicans want to put in place as outlined in the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 will have long-lasting effects on the quality of our lives. By removing restraints on presidential power, they would allow Donald Trump to use the federal government to seek revenge on his critics. Trump also has promised to carry out mass deportations, which would upend the economy and create a humanitarian crisis.
Trump disavows ties to Project 2025, but the conservative blueprint proposes to eliminate the Department of Education, dismantle the agency that studies and tracks hurricanes, and undo progress on reducing the emissions that are heating up our atmosphere.
Beyond that, many MAGA Republicans seek to take away our freedom to decide when, whether and how to have children. In an unregulated America, corporations could have the freedom to cut wages and benefits, raise prices, lower standards, and disregard safety. Ask yourself: Is this the kind of America where your family can thrive?
