KUCHING, 9 OCT – The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), in collaboration with the Sarawak Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD), will hold the Sarawak Palm Oil Technology Transfer Program (TOT Sarawak 2024) in Kuching, on 14 October .
In today’s statement, MPOB explained that the program aims to encourage the use of innovative technology among industry participants, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to increase competitiveness in the local and global market.
“TOT Sarawak 2024, which will be inaugurated by the Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, targets the involvement of industry participants and entrepreneurs in Sarawak with the aim of promoting the commercialization of MPOB’s innovative technology for the benefit of the local community,” he explained.
MPOB Director-General Datuk Dr Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir said the program offered an exclusive opportunity to entrepreneurs and industry participants in Sarawak to engage directly with MPOB researchers in relation to their innovative inventions. “This is a unique opportunity to accelerate the commercialization of palm oil technology, drive sustainable development and progress of the palm oil industry in Sarawak,” he said.
A similar program held in Selangor last July has successfully attracted more than 500 participants from various sectors including PMKS entrepreneurs.
Six new technologies were introduced during the event, bringing the total number of technologies developed by MPOB to 720. – Bernama
