PBMP celebrates World Maritime Day

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 27 – In conjunction with supporting World Maritime Day 2024, the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (PBMP) illuminated their buildings with blue lights yesterday.

The initiative is part of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) worldwide celebrations to commemorate the important role of the maritime industry.

PBMP buildings including PBMP Headquarters, Muara PBMP Coastal Signal Station, Lumut PBMP Lighthouse and Kuala Belait PBMP were illuminated with blue lights starting at 7pm and continuing throughout the night, offering an attractive sight in recognition of the efforts of the maritime sector and the continued need in the implementation of measures safety.

World Maritime Day, organized by the IMO, is celebrated annually to recognize the important role of the global maritime industry in the world economy.

This year’s theme, Future Navigation: Safety first!emphasizing the future of maritime navigation and the importance of security.

PBMP is committed to maritime safety and their participation is a sign of their dedication to the global maritime community.
