In response to a question from Sky News Arabia, Ryder said: “Yes, there is a possibility that Iran will respond militarily to the recent Israeli strikes.”
He stressed that the Ministry of Defense “is closely monitoring Iranian movements, and is committed to coordinating with and defending Israel.”
The Pentagon spokesman also said: “We are keeping our eyes open to what Tehran will resort to after the air strikes” carried out by Israeli aircraft.
On the other hand, Ryder pointed out that Russia’s use of North Korean forces shows the “terrible” military situation that Moscow is suffering from.
He added: “We do not know the deal between Putin and Kim Jong Un and what compensation cost he will pay Kremlin for him”.
