BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 18 OCT – The theme of World Pharmacy Day 2024 is Meeting Global Health Needs emphasizing the invaluable contribution of pharmacy in enabling access to quality health services, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines, optimizing treatment outcomes and promoting health literacy in the community.
Pharmacy is also an important part of the healthcare infrastructure that contributes to improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.
The matter was emphasized by the Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar in his capacity as Chairman and Executive Director of Jerudong Park Medical Center (JPMC), while speaking at the World Pharmacy Day Celebration Ceremony which took place in the Main Lobby, Specialist Center Jerudong Beach (PJSC), today.
He also stated that pharmacies are a trusted source of information for patients to get answers about medicines and guide them on how to manage medicines, medical devices and their health.
Pharmacists’ expertise in drug dosage, advice on product selection, drug dilution are highly valued by doctors and nurses who work together to provide the best care to patients, he commented.
The ceremony then saw a cake cutting event followed by a visit to the exhibition as well as the JPMC and PJSC Pharmacy.
