BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 11 – The Brunei Rehabilitation Medicine Symposium, which aims to bring together rehabilitation experts from Southeast Asia to discuss key topics in the field of rehabilitation medicine, will be held at the Jerudong Beach Specialist Center (PJSC) on October 13.
In connection with that, a press conference to provide an overview of the agenda and introduce several speakers who will present talks at the symposium was held at PJSC, today.
Attending the press conference were the Chairman of the Brunei Rehabilitation Medicine Symposium, Head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, BNSRC, PJSC, Dr Abang Haji Muhd ​​Fahmy bin Abang Haji Hepnie; BNSRC Director and Senior Neurology Consultant, BNSRC, PJSC, Pengiran Dr Hajah Siti Nur’Ashikin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Tengah; Member of the ASEAN Rehabilitation Medicine Association, Honorary Professor from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Malaya Medical Center, Professor Dato’ Dr Zaliha Omar and Chairman of the ASEAN Rehabilitation Medicine Association, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Philippine Public Hospital College of Medicine, University of the Philippines, Professor Jerico Santiago Dela Cruz.
During the press conference, the panelists shared the importance of the symposium in driving rehabilitation medicine forward in Brunei Darussalam. With a focus on critical topics such as cerebral palsymanagement of post-spinal cord injury and syndrome myofascial pinethe symposium is intended to enhance regional collaboration and develop capacity in rehabilitation care across ASEAN countries.
The symposium will also feature panel discussions from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand who will share their experiences and insights on innovation and recovery practices.
