Edmonton police are seeking tips to help locate a suspect wanted in connection to robbing two south Edmonton cannabis stores last month.

On Sept. 17, at roughly 11 p.m., a man entered a cannabis store in the area of 52 Avenue and Terwillegar Boulevard. The suspect approached the clerk, demanded cash and forced the clerk to take him to the stock room, said police in a news release Wednesday.

Once the suspect gained access to the stock room, he forced the clerk to assist him in filling bags with cannabis before fleeing the store.

On Sept. 22, at approximately 10 p.m. what is believed to be the same man entered a cannabis shop in the area of 66 Street and 42 Avenue. He reportedly produced a handgun, prompting the clerk to press the panic alarm.

The suspect fled the shop and was last seen running north along 66 Street, say police.

The suspect is described as a white man, between five-foot-six and five-foot-10, with an average build and shaved brown hair.

Police say in both robberies the man was wearing a fake beard, sunglasses and a baseball hat.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567.
