Polls show Trump, Harris in a dead heat

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Election Day is 22 days away and recent polling shows both candidates in a dead heat.

Both campaigns are ramping up visits to swing states and trying to connect to key voting groups in these final few weeks before election day.

Former president Donald Trump said Sunday in Arizona, if elected, he would add 10,000 more border patrol agents and give them more pay.

“I will be asking Congress immediately to approve a 10% raise. Haven’t had one in a long time,” said Trump.

Trump also joined a Hispanic roundtable in Las Vegas.  He went after his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris for her handling of the southern border.

“And your jobs are being taken. And that’s all because of Kamala and Biden. And really, in this case, her,” said Trump.

Meanwhile, Vice President Harris took a jab at Trump at a rally in North Carolina.

“He is too weak and unstable,” Harris said.

Harris also called out Trump for spreading misinformation about the government’s hurricane response.

“There are those who are channeling people’s tragedies and sorrows into grievance and hatred,” Harris said.

Both vice presidential candidates were also out and about.  Republican Senator JD Vance shook hands at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Democratic Governor Tim Walz joined a pheasant hunt in Minnesota.

Vice President Harris will be in Erie, Pennsylvania for a rally Monday night.

Former President Trump will be in Philadelphia for a town hall.
