Prison closely monitor Diddy, avoid suicide

Following his arrest in prison on charges of sex trafficking and sexual assault, P. Diddy was placed under strict supervision at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDS) in Brooklyn, United States (US).

People reported that the surveillance was done as a precautionary measure out of concern for Diddy’s condition, who could potentially take his own life after his mental state was unstable as a result of the case.

According to the Institute of the US Department of Justice, the surveillance is done for the accused who have suicidal tendencies and need to be given more attention.

During the trial in court, the lawyer representing Diddy, Marc Agnifilo, requested that the judge transfer him to the prison in Essex Country in New Jersey, but the decision was left to the Bureau of Prisons.

The MDC houses a total of 1,600 prisoners, most of whom are awaiting trial. The prison is known as a dangerous place due to the lack of monitoring staff with a high number of deaths and suicides.

Before that, Marc asked for Diddy to be granted bail and wrote a motion stating that several courts in the district have recognized that the conditions at MDC are not suitable for detainees awaiting trial.
