Progressive, STE Infosec signed a cooperation agreement

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 20 SEPT – Progresif Sdn Bhd, a telecommunications company in Brunei, officially announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with ST Engineering Info-Security Pte Ltd (STE Infosec), a well-known cyber security solutions company and service provider based in Singapore.

The strategic partnership was announced on the sidelines of the Brunei Cyber ​​Security Conference (CySec) 2024 held at The Empire Brunei on 18 to 19 September recently, with the theme Cyber ​​Vigilance and Data Sovereignty: Protecting the Digital Horizon.

Present as a witness at the signing ceremony was Singapore’s High Commissioner, His Excellency Laurence Bay together with Singapore’s Deputy High Commissioner, Shaun Grosse.

The collaboration marks an important milestone in Brunei’s journey towards enhancing digital security. By combining Progressive’s local expertise and telecommunications infrastructure with STE Infosec’s advanced cyber security solutions and services, this partnership aims to enhance Brunei’s cyber defense capabilities.

Such initiatives focus on the joint development and operation of advanced cyber security solutions, including Security Operations Center (SOC) services. The collaboration aims to leverage global expertise while nurturing domestic talent, ensuring round-the-clock threat monitoring, and implementing advanced defense mechanisms.

By strengthening digital resilience and fostering a skilled cybersecurity workforce, Progresif takes proactive actions to protect its business interests and customer data in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Chief Executive Officer of Progresif Sdn Bhd, Hajah Nurul Haniah binti Haji Jaafar, commented on the partnership saying the collaboration with STE Infosec is in line with Brunei’s vision for a secure digital future.

“By joining forces, we will not only strengthen our country’s cyber defense but also foster innovation and growth in the local technology sector,” he said.

Meanwhile, President, Cyber ​​for STE Infosec, Goh Eng Choon also said robust cyber security is essential to protect sensitive data and build trust in our digital age.

“By proactively establishing a SOC and ensuring 24/7 threat monitoring, we empower cyber defenders with the advanced solutions needed to protect what matters most to our customers. Our collaboration with Progresif will position both Progresif and STE Infosec to jointly bring advanced cyber security capabilities to various sectors in Brunei,” he added.
