Qatar Energy signs an agreement to supply naphtha to Shell for 20 years

This agreement is the latest in a series of supply deals concluded by Qatar Energy with Asian and European partners, and is based on the massive expansion of the North Field, which is expected to begin production in 2026.

This project is part of the South Pars field, the largest natural gas field in the world, which Qatar shares with Iran.

Saad Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and CEO of Qatar Energy, said: “We are happy to sign Qatar Energy’s first agreement to sell naphtha, with a duration of 20 years, which is the largest and longest agreement to date. This is the second agreement of its kind that we have signed with Shell since 2019.”
