Quartet ambushed man while dating

Four arrests, followed by four arrest warrants – this is the result of an attack committed during an alleged date. Berlin Police on Tuesday.

Four young men between the ages of 18 and 20 are said to have lured a 57-year-old into a trap via a dating platform for gay men.

At the Jungfernheide underground station in Berlin-Charlottenburg They are said to have met the victim. There, a 19-year-old is said to have approached the man. He is said to have let his accomplices listen in on him on a mobile phone. The young man is then said to have led the 57-year-old to a dark path along the Landwehr Canal.

There, the suspects are said to have attacked the man, beaten him, strangled him and kicked him. They are then said to have stolen his wallet, cell phone and smartwatch. They are said to have then thrown their victim into the Landwehr Canal. The man was only just able to escape.

The police are investigating the suspects. An investigating judge issued arrest warrants on Friday for gang robbery and grievous bodily harm. Investigators are examining whether the group could be responsible for other similar crimes.
