BRIDGEHAMPTON – Ralph Lauren took to the Hamptons to launch his Americana line, featuring First Lady Jill Biden, Usher and Colman Domingo on the front row as well as Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and a bevy of cute kids on the runway.
Horses and riders frolic in a nearby field behind a white fence at the tony equestrian complex in Bridgehampton as Lauren shows off white, orange, green and yellow clothing for men and women including a blue kid’s jacket.
For the Spring/Summer 2025 show, the day before the official opening of New York Fashion Week, Lauren has chosen Khalily Stables, a 19-acre state-of-the-art equestrian area that includes stalls, barns, a riding arena and paddock grassy
Lauren combined her collection of Purple Label, Polo Ralph Lauren and children’s wear for a show that emphasized wearability ahead of summer.
There’s a picnic-style look in a blue dress, white pants and shorts paired with stripes and a jacket. There were also looks for the evening, including a dazzling long pearl skirt worn by Campbell with a white T-shirt.
For the men, Lauren featured corduroy tights, a blue dinner jacket and orange trousers matched with a navy nautical jacket and a multi-coloured wide tie paired with a striped shirt.
White and blue colors have dominated the clothes included crochet. She showed off some sparkle in a sequined evening gown, a white cocktail dress with a bare back and a blue blouse, paired with a pair of khaki-colored ripped pants and other looks.
While preschool children to teenagers and adults, are also ready on the stage of the show.
One wears white shorts and a green scarf. While the other wears high boots with blue polo matching pants. Other than that is prepsters small with striped button down, navy jacket and white cropped pants.
Of the show, Usher said, “It’s the American life. That’s American love. That’s family.”
Another of Lauren’s guests, Tom Hiddleston, agreed. “It’s a very smart and thorough show, I want to be a part of them. I want to go through it,” he said. “It is very inspiring,” he said again.
Domingo added, “It shows all the different colors, shapes and sizes where it makes people feel like they already have it.”
While, according to another invited friend, Jude Law, ‘it is a place of better aspirations.’
Naomi Watts, Kasey Musgraves, Demi Singleton and Justin Theroux were also among Lauren’s guests. So is Kim Min-jeong, known as Winter, from the K-pop girl group, Aespa.
In her show notes, Lauren says “The Hamptons are a natural world with endless blue skies; the ocean, green fields and white fences, rusticity and elegance with a quality of light that attracted artists here a few years ago.” – AP
