BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 4 – The Department of Islamic Studies held a Prize Presentation Ceremony for the Al-Quran Recitation Competition (Tarannum) for Arab and Religious Schools in the Year 1446H / 2024M at Jerudong Religious School Surau, today.

Present as the guest of honor and then presenting the prizes to the winners was the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion), Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr Haji Hardifadhillah bin Haji Mohd Salleh.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the announcement of the results of the competition.

The event continued with the recitation of the holy verses of the Quran from johan for all three competition categories.

The Alif category has been opened to Year 10, 11 and Pre-U students from Arabic schools and the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute. While the Ba Category is open to Year 7, 8 and 9 students. While the Al-Quran Reading Contest (Tarannum) is opened specifically for religious school students.

A total of 24 participants consisting of four male participants and four female participants for each category were selected to compete in the final stage.
