Resurfacing begins on K-96 in Western Kansas

SCOTT CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — Resurfacing work is underway on Kansas Highway 96 in western Kansas.

The Kansas Department of Transportation says crews are resurfacing the highway from the Wichita/Scott County Line to West Ora Street in Scott City.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in sections, and flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone.

Drivers could see delays of up to 15 minutes in the construction zone. When crews are not working, both highway lanes will be open.

Work is expected to be completed by November. Great Bend-based Venture Corp. is the primary contractor for the $3 million project.
