Two Berlin police officers are said to have stopped a driver and stolen around 55,000 euros from his vehicle. More than a year after the alleged robbery, the 45- and 48-year-old officers are appearing before the Berlin Regional Court today (9:30 a.m.). During a fake check on the Berlin city highway in July 2023, they are said to have stopped a then 62-year-old driver with blue lights and police batons.

According to the investigation, the man was handcuffed by the police and taken to the police car. They found around 55,000 euros in a backpack and stole it. The charges are aggravated robbery and dangerous bodily harm. Five days of trial are scheduled so far.
