LOS ANGELES — Singer and songwriter Chappell Roan will be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine for the first time in October, the publication announced Tuesday morning.

Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, is from Missouri and has launched into super stardom over the past year selling out concerts and bringing in thousands of fans to her performances at festivals including Lollapalooza in Chicago.

“thank you @RollingStone this is a dream come true <3,” the 26-year-old artist said in a post on social media platform X.

Roan’s debut album, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” released last September and gained momentum as she began opening on tour for Olivia Rodrigo.

Many of her songs — including “Pink Pony Club” and “HOT TO GO!” — have been streamed millions of times.

@ChappellRoan’s joyful pop anthems have connected with a massive audience this year. But getting here involved long odds, a lot of heartache, and fame freaking her out,” Rolling Stone said in a post on X.

Her music has especially resonated with LGBTQ+ people. She’s been inviting local drag queens to open her tour shows. Her latest single “Good luck, babe!” is about being in love with another girl who has not accepted that she likes girls.

“Right now, it’s more important than ever to use your vote, and I will do whatever it takes to protect people’s civil rights, especially the LGBTQ+ community,” she told Rolling Stone. “My ethics and values will always align with that, and that hasn’t changed with a different nominee. I feel lucky to be alive during an incredibly historical time period when a woman of color is a presidential nominee.”

Her interview with Rolling Stone is available online and will be published in October.
