BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 7 – Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia are countries of the Malay Archipelago that share civilization, royal institutions, culture, language and religion.
The two countries have also enjoyed an ongoing network of cooperation in various fields including trade, defence, security and education since establishing diplomatic relations four decades ago.
Therefore, in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia, the Royal Photo Exhibition of Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam has been planned and held to celebrate the enduring bilateral relationship between the two countries by showing the closeness and friendly relations between Brunei and Malaysia.
This was stated by the Acting Director of Museums, Department of Museums, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Halus in his welcome speech during the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition which took place at the Art Gallery, Brunei Energy Hub Bermaga Royal, today.
Present as guest of honor and completing the opening of the exhibition was the Permanent Secretary (Politics and International Organizations), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pengiran Norhashimah binti Pengiran Mohd Hassan.
Also present were Ambassadors and High Commissioners Abroad in Brunei Darussalam, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, directors and senior government officials.
Pengiran Haji Rosli further said that the 55 photos on display will hopefully be able to show how the relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia is not only based under the Malay and Islamic roots, but also has family and historical ties that are closely intertwined for hundreds of years.
The exhibition organized by the Department of Museums, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in collaboration with the High Commission of Malaysia will be open to the public from today, 7 October to 7 November, every Saturday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm.
