Things between Erica Mena and Safaree went from bad to straaaaaait sour after the exes traded shade over a number of things including child support, deadbeat dad allegations, and footage of one of them using a ladder to scale a wall. Now it’s apparently all over; at least for now.
Safaree & Erica Mena Were Initially Fighting Over A Child Support Petition
On Tuesday, InTouchWeekly reported that Safaree, 43, filed a petition to reduce his monthly child support payments of $4,305, citing a significant change in his financial circumstances since their divorce settlement in 2022. The original child support agreement was based on Safaree’s reported income of $61,157 per month and Erica’s income of $41,289.
According to InTouch, Safaree claims that his current income no longer supports the original agreement, as he is no longer a main cast member of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and has lost other streams of revenue.
As news of Safaree’s petition hit the net, Erica Mena, responded with a now-deleted Instagram post captured by TheNeighborhoodTalk, accusing Safaree of neglecting his parental duties.
Safaree Responds To Erica Mena With A YouTube Video
Safaree later hit back with a YouTube video, alleging that Mena was controlling and abusive, claiming that her behavior made co-parenting nearly impossible.
“This deadbeat narrative is so jarring to me, it does give me a headache sometimes but I’m pretty good at brushing things off. People who know me and know my situation, they’re like, ‘Yo how long are you gonna stay quiet?’ I be sparing people,” he added.
“It’s just so draining, everything about it. Her own family is going after her for child support because she doesn’t do anything to help her son. So to try to make it seem like I’m a deadbeat, like I’m not trying to be there for my kids? But it would be ncie for you to get out the way. Let me be a father.”
The video showed Erica Mena pushing Safaree in front of their children and another clip also showed Erica at one point banging on windows. Another clip also featured the exes’ daughter Safire crying and saying she doesn’t want to go to her mom’s house.
Elsewhere in the video, Safaree detailed alleged instances of physical abuse, including Erica showing up unannounced at his home in Florida, and shared that he’s had to call the police on her in the past. He also alleged that Erica used their children as leverage to control when and how he could see them, sharing a story about her preventing their children from attending a summer camp he had paid for.
The YouTube also included a clip of the Love & Hip Hop star using a ladder to scale a wall, seemingly at Safaree’s house, and breaking a sculpture.
Erica Mena needs psychological help.

Safaree also accused his ex of sending a naked photo of him to his family and shared an alleged text from her dubbing it the “type of nonsense he has to deal with.”
“I figured since I know your son is such a liar and since I know he lies on me all the time to you and your daughter–just figured I inform you of him being up in my bed last night,” read an alleged text from Erica Mena. “It’s ironic how much he paints me out to be such a hateful monster but yet won’t leave me alone.”

Erica Mena Says Safaree “Violated Her Body” Accuses Him Of Kicking Their Son, Legend
Despite saying she was advised by her legal team not to, Erica Mena responded to Safaree on Instagram.

According to Erica Mena, the videos Safaree posted are from 2023, and in May of this year, he asked to reconcile with her. She also said that she was so enraged in those videos because Safaree “violated her body.”
“Do you really want me to post you begging for me back just this past May on your knees in front of our kids?” wrote the reality star on Instagram.
She then followed up with an alleged post from Safaree where he said he “wants to die” with Erica because he can’t bear to be without her.
She also expounded in a follow-up post about her “violating her body” claims and made mention of a restraining order.
“I wanted answers on why he would put my health in jeopardy but he’s not admitting that part. He’s also not admitting that he had to drop his fake restraining order attempt because of all the evidence I had.”
In another retaliatory post, Erica Mena shared a video of their daughter Safire recounting a moment where Safaree allegedly kicked their son Legend, causing him to fall.
“It really is no coincidence that this man leaked his own court documents to falsely claim he has the kids majority of the time,” Erica captioned the post. “It’s no coincidence that all of a sudden he’s a YouTuber and waited all this time to so call tell his ‘truth’ all just for views.
On Thursday, Erica finally threw in the towel to the mess, noting that she was doing so for the sake of their children.
“I am committed to taking the initiative to stop this, and I believe it would be beneficial for both parties to do so.”
Let’s hope that these two both take the initiative to stop publicly trading shade.
