Salvation Army's Warm Hearts Coat Distribution underway

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Salvation Army South Central Area Command began distributing winter clothing on Monday.

The Warm Hearts Coat Distribution will be offered from the dates below: 

  • Oct. 14 – Oct. 18 at 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Oct. 21 – Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m. to Noon

Salvation Army locations include:

  • Downtown Koch Center, 350 N Market St., downtown Wichita
  • Citadel Corps Community Center, 1739 S. Elpyco (this location only is closed on Fridays)
  • West Orchard Community Center, 1910 S Everett 

Coats, blankets, and other winter items will be available. While supplies last, quantities are limited to the items available, and limits may apply. Families are asked to provide original IDs for everyone in their household. This distribution is for Sedgwick County households only.

The Salvation Army is also partnering with the City of Wichita Park and Rec. Department to offer coats at the following facilities:

  • Boston | 6655 E. Zimmerly
  • Edgemoor | 5815 E. 9th St
  • Evergreen | 2700 N. Woodland
  • Linwood | 1901 S. Kansas
  • Orchard | 4808 W. 9th St
  • Woodard | 2750 E. 18th St

Christmas Assistance Applications for the Angel Tree and Star of Hope Campaign will be taken from Oct. 14 through Nov. 15.
