SEAMEO EXCO held an online meeting

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 15 – The Executive Committee Meeting of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO EXCO) was recently held online.

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education, Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin as a representative of the delegation from Brunei Darussalam.

SEAMEO EXCO is held every year, where the meeting brings together senior SEAMEO EXCO officers to advise SEAMEO senior officers on the core and efforts of SEAMEO units.

In addition, the meeting was held to set the direction and submit proposals for the administration of the SEAMEO Secretariat, as well as the overall development of the SEAMEO Regional Centers.

This year, the meeting was chaired by the Deputy Secretary for Curriculum and Teaching, Department of Education, Republic of the Philippines, Her Excellency, Dr Gina O Gonong.

Among the matters discussed include the report on the work plan of the SEAMEO Secretariat, the results framework as well as proposals and project/programme reports under SEAMEO.

The meeting also agreed to confirm several proposals to be presented during the 47th SEAMEO Senior Officials Meeting, which is scheduled to take place in November 2024.

Also joining the Permanent Secretary (Core Education) in the meeting are officials from the Ministry of Education.
