Following a fire service operation at the Botanischer Garten station, there are still delays on the S1 S-Bahn line on Saturday evening. As Deutsche Bahn announced, the line’s 10-minute intervals only apply between Frohnau and Schöneberg.
A spokesman for the Berlin fire service told the German Press Agency that smoke had developed on an S-Bahn train due to a defective braking system. Because the train was at the stop at the time, all passengers were able to get off.
No one was injured. “No action was required,” said the spokesman. The fire department was on site with 42 emergency personnel. (dpa)
