With the exception of extreme Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska, many of us are off to a much cooler start to the day. You will want to throw on some form of long sleeves before you head out the door.
Despite a cooler start in the 40s, we have a warm day ahead. A switch back to southerly winds will cause high temperatures to quickly return to above average 80s and 90s after a pleasant and fall-like Tuesday.
Skies remain dry with very little cloud cover which means we have more sunshine on the way. There is another front to our north which will bring another temperature change during the second half of the work week.
A southerly breeze will not be as strong during the night and will also keep many low temperatures from dropping below average, so early Thursday morning will not be as chilly.
The next front will be on the approach from the north through the day. It will gradually track through the area from northwest to southeast through Thursday and into early Friday. It will come through dry and bring another shake up to our temperatures.
South Central Kansas will be toasty in the low 90s Thursday afternoon while the northwest corner of the area will be in the upper 70s and low 80s. Everyone will be slightly cooler by Friday before another uptick in temperatures Saturday.
Saturday will be windy and warm as the march of dry disturbances continues. Late Saturday another front will start to move in and Sunday will be slightly cooler again once it makes a complete pass through the Sunflower State.
The start of the first full week of October will be pleasant and breezy before temperatures start to warm back up. We may stay dry until we start to approach the middle of the month.
