Storm Track 3 Forecast: Fall temps arrive this weekend, rain possible next week

The front has entered the picture!  Winds have flipped in Northwest Kansas.  However, the winds of change for all will not occur until Saturday night before the front clears our viewing area completely.

Storm Track 3 Forecast: Fall temps arrive this weekend, rain possible next week

Warm conditions for Friday Football Fever across the region. Temperatures will go from the mid-80s at kickoff to the low 70s by the 4th quarter.

With this boundary stalling over the next day, temps will be toastiest to the south ahead of it — well into the 80s with some 90s mixed in farther south.

There is a slim chance a sprinkle or two forms near the Nebraska state line to the northeast into Saturday, but we have virtually no moisture to work with right now.  The atmosphere is bone dry.

Winds will be stronger on Saturday for our northwest counties.  With a drop in humidity, warm temps, dry and dying vegetation, high fire danger is possible.  A Fire Weather Watch is posted for tomorrow.

Fall temps take over for Sunday.  It will be refreshing in the 70s.  Winds will also ramp up with another reinforcing shot of cooler air.

We will get cold enough into Monday morning for some frost near the Nebraska state line.

Highs early next week will favor the 60s.  More frost is possible especially for northern Kansas Tuesday morning before shifting to the northeast on Wednesday morning.  This will be a shallow intrusion of cold air so the warmth will be able to build back by mid to late next week.

We are eyeing a strong cold front and storm system for next Friday into Saturday.  This looks to have moisture with it for a batch of scattered showers and thunderstorms.

The Haysville Fall Festival begins next Friday evening.  Any leftover rain could make Haysville’s parade next Saturday morning a damp one.  Something to watch because we desperately need moisture.
