Morning clouds moved out this afternoon. The sky has taken on a hazy appearance in portions of western Kansas due to heavier wildfire smoke.
This smoke looks to thicken to the northwest into Wednesday.
Overnight lows will be seasonably comfortable from the upper 40s to the 50s through Wednesday morning.
There is a slim chance a sprinkle pops in western Kansas on Wednesday.
A weak and fast-moving disturbance will track across the area through Thursday morning. Central and eastern Kansas both have a chance of rain before temperatures climb a few more degrees to round out the workweek.
Toastiest days will be Friday and Saturday. We will have one dry front by the start of the weekend with a much more pronounced cold front for the last half of the weekend.
This latter cold front will set the stage for more fall-like weather next week. A few more disturbances from next Monday into next Wednesday will form more rain showers but amounts look light and spotty across Kansas.
There will be another reinforcing shot of cooler air by the end of next week that will drop temps even more. Dust off the sweaters and sweatshirts because you will need them soon!
