Feeling like fall this morning with our morning starting off in the 50s.
A few spritzes and sprinkles around especially for western Kansas, but we will largely stay dry with the bulk of the rain staying in Colorado and New Mexico.
Highs stay cooler to the west due to extra cloud cover, central Kansas breaking out into a partly cloudy sky and warming to the middle 70s.
The storm system that holds our rain potential has slowed down and dug its heels in over Arizona, and this is not good news for our rain prospects.
This will keep the bulk of the rain west of the Colorado state line today and even into tomorrow it will be tough to get substantial moisture into Kansas.
Lows tonight will be cool in the 40s and 50s.
Tomorrow stays mild with highs mainly in the 70s.
A more substantial wave of rain develops to the west Sunday evening and marches across the state into Monday as the parent storm system finally begins to move east.
Rain looks most likely for Wichita on Monday, ending by early Tuesday morning.
Many in Kansas could see a half inch of rain, but the heaviest rainfall has shifted south and west, favoring northeastern New Mexico.
After this system clears, next week looks mostly dry. A cold front sweeps through Wednesday and keeps highs in the 70s for most through week’s end, but above average temperatures will stick around through the end of the month.
