If you like summer weather, you better live it up! Cooler air is on the way and will bring the fall feeling as early as Sunday, but not before we see another hot one. Starting unseasonably warm this morning, we warm up to the 90s across much of Kansas today.
This will be near record heat in many locations! Highs stay a little more reasonable in the northwest behind our stationary front.
Cooler air begins to advance tonight as lows fall to the 40s and 50s.
Sunday turns the corner into more seasonable weather as north winds take over and bring highs down to the 60s and 70s.
This cold front is slipping its way under high pressure overhead, which will keep things dry and mostly clear. The core of the colder air will be anchored over the eastern US.
Temperatures begin to warm back up toward late week, but staying more seasonable.
The upper level high will finally break down by next weekend as a storm system approaches from the west. Another slow moving cold front may be able to generate several rounds of showers and storms in Kansas by next weekend!
