Even though we are still dry with high pressure locked in place, there is a small chance for rain this morning. Mainly in South Central Kansas from the Wichita Metro to our easternmost counties.
This chance will last through mid to late morning but most of us will remain dry. Any cloud cover due to this chance should break apart by the afternoon.
Afternoon high temperatures will be similar to how we started the week. We will warm back up to the upper 70s and 80s.
Under mostly clear skies, overnight low temperatures will dip back down to the 40s and 50s. This is typical for this time of year.
Temperatures stay above average through the rest of the work and school week. There is another small chance for a sprinkle or shower in Central Kansas Thursday.
We will attempt to poke some holes in high pressure that has been stubborn and leading to our quiet conditions. However, any rain that we are able to receive over the next few days will not help much with the drought.
We will not see any impacts from Hurricane Milton but if you have family or friends in Florida check on them and make sure they are either hunkered down or evacuated. Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in Florida Wednesday evening as a major category 3.
Unseasonable warmth gets cut down over the weekend once a front comes through. The end of the weekend and into next week will feel more like fall.
