BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 15 OCT – The organization of the IBTE Convo Festival not only marks the upcoming convocation event but it also reflects the commitment and hard work of everyone involved in the planning, coordination and implementation of activities.
Through that effort, we can witness the team spirit shown by the students and staff of IBTE who are equally trying to make the IBTE Convo Festival a success.
The matter was stated by IBTE Chief Executive Officer and Director of Technical Education, Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli in his welcome speech at the Opening of IBTE Convo 2024 in conjunction with the 32nd IBTE Convocation which took place at Dewan An-Naura, Yayasan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex , Bandar Seri Begawan, today.
Dr Haji Mohd Zamri further said that the festival organizing committee had planned various interesting events and activities for students and staff to enjoy including sports events, business activities and CV Writing Clinic.
The highlight of the party is the opening of the IBTE Convo Party 2024 which also includes the IBTE Job Fair where it provides an opportunity for IBTE graduates and alumni to explore job opportunities as well as the distribution of IBTE graduation robes to prospective IBTE graduates.
Dr Haji Mohd Zamri advised the IBTE students that when they are faced with a challenging task, they should be patient and persevere until they achieve success. The perseverance of the students, he added, can be witnessed when they put on their graduation robes and will make the transition from a student to a graduate.
He also called on them to continue to show the same perseverance as when they were still studying, in going through a new chapter in their lives when they are about to step into the world of work or start a business or continue their studies.
Present as the guest of honor to complete the opening of the IBTE Convo Festival 2024 was the Member of the National Assembly, the Honorable Awang Lau How Teck and went on to present certificates of appreciation to the participants of the IBTE Job Fair.
The party that will be held at the International Conference Center, Berakas on October 29 is one of the events celebrated every year before the start of the Convocation Ceremony of the Brunei Institute of Technical Education. The completion of the festival saw the organization of several events and activities including the IBTE Job Fair which was held for all IBTE campus residents and students who will be graduating this year as well as IBTE alumni to find jobs in various industries.
The IBTE Job Fair this time was attended by 17 companies and 5 government agencies where they presented information to graduates and held an open interview session for IBTE graduates. Out of the number of companies invited to participate in the exhibition, a total of 322 job vacancies were offered to the graduates.
In addition, a series of events and activities will be held to celebrate the achievements of future IBTE graduates such as the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony, Sports Championships and Sales activities held at IBTE Business Campus, IBTE Sultan Bolkiah Campus and IBTE Agrotechnology and Applied Science Campus.
