BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 7 – For the first time, the Ar-Rafi Archery Sports Academy Center (PASMA) has organized an Archery Competition between Mosques in Kilanas Subdistrict located in the open area of the Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque (DRIPAD), Kampung Bebatik Kilanas, yesterday.
Among the mosques participating in the sports competition are DRIPAD Mosque, Perak Jubilee Mosque Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Kampung Jangsak, Kampung Kilanas Mosque, Ar-Rahman Mosque Kampung Tanjung Bunut, Kampung Bengkurong Mosque and Kampung Bunut Mosque.
Two categories were contested, namely the Mosque Improvement Committee Member Category (AJKTM) and the Mosque Youth Category, where each mosque sent a total of five participants for each category.
The AJKTM category was won by Awang Mohammad Noh Rizal bin Haji Selamat from Kampung Kilanas Mosque, Haji Kamaluddin bin Haji Abdul Ghani from Kampung Bunut Mosque, and Awang Mohammad Ali bin Haji Bagul from Ar-Rahman Mosque in Kampung Tanjung Bunut.
The winner of the Mosque Youth Category was won by Awang Adib Izzuddin bin Fazrin from Kampung Bengkurong Mosque, Awangku Muhammad Izzman bin Pengiran Haji Idris from Kampung Bunut Mosque, and Awang Mohd Asyraf As-Siddiq bin Sudarlan from DRIPAD Mosque.
The archery competition was held in order to increase the knowledge of takmir members and mosque youth about the benefits of archery for health, sports and religion.
It is also to pave the way and unearth the natural talents of archery, as well as make archery an annual activity for mosques throughout Brunei Darussalam.
