DOHA, OCT 4 – The Doha Declaration, issued at the Third Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit with a focus on “Sports Diplomacy,” stressed the urgent need for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, as well as unrestricted access for humanitarian aid to the region, the Agency reported. The summit was officiated by heads of state and government from Asian Cooperation Dialogue member countries, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The leaders expressed deep concern over the escalating situation in Gaza, calling for a comprehensive ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all detainees from both sides based on mutual agreement.
They reiterated their strong support for full Palestinian membership in the United Nations (UN) and emphasized the importance of achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.
The declaration emphasizes the importance of cooperation and dialogue in fostering peace and stability among member countries of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, with the aim of achieving inclusive growth and sustainable development, as reflected in the 2030 Vision for Asian Cooperation.
In addition, the leaders emphasized the importance of youth sports by promoting international youth sports events across various disciplines. They also emphasized the establishment of cultural exchange programs that link sports activities with educational components to increase understanding and friendship between cultures. – Named
