The female trader pleaded not guilty to the murder case

KUALA TERENGGANU, OCT 21 – A business woman pleaded not guilty in the Terengganu High Court today to the charge of killing her business partner in November last year.

Nooraini Remali, 36, was charged with murder by causing the death of Noorzihan Abd Karim who was 65 years old at the time in front of the Telekom Malaysia Post, Batu 23, Kuala Berang between 3:20 am and 4 am, 1 November 2023.

He was charged in accordance with Section 302 of the Penal Code which provides for the death penalty or imprisonment for up to 40 years and if not sentenced to death, must also be punished with at least 12 lashes.

Judge Datuk Hassan Abdul Ghani then fixed the re-mention of the case on Nov 17.

The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Khairuddin Idris while the accused was represented by lawyer Che Mohd Azmi Che Hamat.

On 15 November 2023, Nooraini was brought before the Marang Magistrate’s Court on the charge and the case was transferred to the High Court.
