BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 23 – The 199th Series (Male) and 200th Series (Female) Convert Basic Guidance Scheme organized by the Islamic Dakwah Center (PDI) through the Convert Development Division (Mualaf Training) and the Dakwah Unit in the four districts anchored the curtain with the closing ceremony and the presentation of certificates to a total of 132 participants from all four districts this afternoon.
For Brunei and Muara Districts, the ceremony was held at the Darul Huda Building, PDI, and was attended by the Director of PDI, Ministry of Religious Affairs (KHEU), Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, as the guest of honor and completed the handing over of participation certificates to the participants.
Meanwhile for Tutong District, the ceremony was held at the Tutong District Dakwah Unit Office and was attended by the Acting Managing Director of Zakat, Waqf and Baitulmal, KHEU, Pengiran Dr Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit, as the guest of honor who also completed the handing over of participation certificates to the participants.
While in Belait District, the ceremony was attended by the Mosque Affairs Officer, Awang Akup bin Haji Lamat, at a ceremony held at the Belait District Dakwah Unit Office.
In Temburong District, the ceremony was held at the Office of the Temburong District Dakwah Unit and was attended by the Head of the Temburong District Dakwah Unit, Haji Hazimin bin Haji Metali.
The participants of the scheme consisted of 43 participants (ie 19 men and 24 women) from Brunei and Muara Districts; 35 participants (17 men and 18 women) from Tutong District; 36 participants (18 men and 18 women) from Belait District; and 18 participants (seven men and 11 women) from Temburong District.
Among the filling of the scheme includes learning the basic knowledge of Fardu Ain and Fardu Kifayah which are Iqra, Memorization, Tauhid, Fiqh, practical worship, Islamic history, nutrition in Islam, Islamic morals, hygiene and the theory and practice of funeral management.
It was held to provide guidance to convert participants in refining and improving the knowledge of Islam, especially in the field of faith, worship and morals.
The scheme that is carried out prioritizes the quality of learning and the spread of good character. While the approach taken is interactive and flexible according to the topics presented to the convert participants.
In an effort to protect and preserve the welfare of the new brothers, PDI provides a number of specific guidance programs for converts, namely Islamic Introduction Guidance, Basic Guidance Scheme (in Malay and English), Advanced Guidance Scheme I and Advanced Guidance Scheme II. Mualaf Guidance Classes are also opened weekly in all four districts and the Mualaf Tarbiyah Tour Program.
