YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The men’s chess team of Armenia celebrated victory in the 6th round of the World Olympiad.
“Armenpress:“, the Armenian men’s national team competed with the Philippine national team in the men’s tournament of the Olympics in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and won 2.5:1.5.
Robert Hovhannisyan and Shant Sargsyan celebrated victory as part of the Armenian national team. Hayk Martirosyan lost, and Gabriel Sargsyan shared the point.
In the previous rounds, the Armenian men’s team defeated Malta (4:0), Andorra (3:1), Brazil (3:1), Sweden (2.5:1.5) and lost to the Chinese team (1.5:2.5) in the fourth round.
