The mystery at Lake Tegel

Where are the swans from Lake Tegel Ten years ago there were dozens in the north of Berlin, but today you only see three or four on a good day. Is this also a consequence of man-made environmental pollution? Quite the opposite! The absence of swans is even a good sign for water quality in the lake, as pointed out by bird protection expert Frank Sieste from the NABU Berlin-Reinickendorf district group. The Reinickendorf newsletter of the Tagesspiegel reports on this in its current issue (available in full at tagesspiegel.de/bezirke).
