The Pentagon: We are coordinating with Israel regarding the expected response to Iran

Ryder added: “We stress the need to avoid a major escalation in the region The Middle East“, stressing that “diplomacy is the solution to the current tension existing between Israel And Lebanon“.

He continued, saying: “We understand that Israel has the right to defend itself, but we do not want some wrong assessments.”

Ryder stressed that the United States “will continue to work to defend Israel, and we will continue efforts aimed at preventing escalation and reaching a diplomatic solution.”

In response to a question about the possibility of Israel undertaking a unilateral response without the approval of the United States, Ryder said: “Israel is a sovereign state. We have alliances and partnerships to work to find a solution to the current situation in the Middle East. We want to solve the problem from its roots, that is, we want a ceasefire in Gaza and release the hostages.”

Regarding the balance between supporting Israel and working to reduce escalation in the region, Ryder said: “The situation is complex and requires working together to resolve that aspect. We continue the dialogue and continue to rely on deterrence against Iran and its agents in the region.”

Regarding the Lebanese file, Ryder explained: “We are consulting with friends in Lebanon and we know the nature of the challenges they face in order to reach the best solution to deal with this crisis.”
